Danny and Sheri Silk serve on the Senior Management Team at Bethel Church in Redding, California and at Jesus Culture, Sacramento. Danny is the founder and president of Loving on Purpose, an international ministry dedicated to communities and families.

Danny’s life mission is to strengthen inter-personal relationships within the church body. His vision is to build and sustain a culture of honor by challenging traditional paradigms that subjugate disempowered subcultures such as those who have made mistakes, those held to a “sinful” past, women, and children.

These subjects are discussed from a heart-focused perspective rather than a theologically-based study in his previous two books: Loving our Kids on Purpose, 2008, and Culture of Honor, 2009, and explored further in Powerful and Free: Confronting the Glass Ceiling for Women in the Church, which was released by Red Arrow in December, 2012. Keep Your Love On!, released May of 2013, has been his bestseller yet. In February 2014, Keep Your your Love On’s Amazon ranking was #4 in Dating & Relationship books, with over 75,000 copies in print.

About Keep Your Love On!

Keeping your love on. It’s a hard thing to do. Sometimes it’s the hardest thing to do. But if you want to build healthy relationships with God and others, learning to keep your love on is non-negotiable. Adults and children alike thrive in healthy relationships where it is safe to love and be loved, to know and be known. Yet for many, relationships are anything but safe, loving, or intimate. They are defined by anxiety, manipulation, control, and conflict. The reason is that most people have never been trained to be powerful enough to keep their love on in the face of mistakes, pain, and fear.

Keep Your Love On reveals the higher, Jesus-focused standard defined by mature love—love that stays ‘on’ no matter what. Danny Silk’s practical examples and poignant stories will leave you with the power to draw healthy boundaries, communicate in love, and ultimately protect your connections so you can love against all odds. As a result, your relationships will be radically transformed for eternity. When you learn to keep your love on, you become like Jesus.

ABOUT Powerful & Free

What comes to mind when you hear the phrase, “women in ministry?”

 A. Nursery-worker

B. Children’s leader

C. Pastor

D. It’s complicated…

If you are like most, your answer would be, “It’s complicated.” Many believers are still confused about the proper place for women in the Church. Powerful and Free is a call to address the structural message of inequality. It is not a theological treatise on the biblical case for female leaders (there are many excellent resources for this already).

It is not a political program to implement some kind of affirmative action in our leadership teams, because that doesn’t work. Rather, it is an appeal to the hearts of men and women to recognize the existence of the glass ceiling for women and to challenge themselves to align more fully with a Kingdom vision for gender-blind leadership in the Body and equal male-female partnership in the home.
